Medical Records
Come and hear how the Lakeland Regional Medical Center deals with the complex issues surrounding managing medical records.  The usual gremlins of case files in multiple formats, access issues, and routine records management concerns are complicated by the nature of medical records containing privacy information and other unique factors.

 

Bio:
Michael Spake is the Vice President of Administrative Services at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.  He oversees administrative support to the CEO, including management of the health system’s external affairs (e.g. governmental relations, public relations, external communications, development, and community benefit programs) as well as the creation, oversight, and day-to-day operations of the Compliance and Internal Audit Program. This position also serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer and the Research Integrity Officer. 

Michael has served as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) and MCG Health System, in Augusta, GA.  His experience includes being the Director of Corporate Responsibility for Bon Secours Richmond Health System in Virginia, and experience with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Virginia.
