Presentation:

Too Many Bits will Byte

Since the introduction of the computer to your office space, moving from the paper world to the electronic world or records management has evolved over the course of decades. We’ve hardly noticed that almost 99% of what is generated is born digitally. Yet with all these advances we’re still stuck with one foot in the paper world and one in the digital world. And no one seems to want to manage the digital landfills that have grown large and cumbersome.

If all these bits and bytes were converted to paper overnight would your management take notice? Would they be concerned that no one is managing the records and information if instead of a 120 GB hard drive on the server, it was more like 13 tractor trailers full of records parked in the front parking lot? I’m inclined to think they would be ordering someone to do something about it.

In order to better equip you to convince management of the volume of records that really exist within your organization and arm you with facts to obtain support, we are going to be doing a workshop on how to convert those bits and bytes into their paper equivalent.

Bring your calculator, some paper and writing instruments and leave this session with a powerful new tool in your records and information managers’ toolkit.
